Position Title
Laboratory Technician III (Rosato Lab) – Lebanon, NH.
OverviewThe Rosato lab studies the function and regulation of T cells, especially in nervous tissue. The successful candidate will conduct experiments, manage mouse colonies, and perform daily laboratory operations under guidance from the Principal Investigator.
Responsibilities- Laboratory Management (50%)
- Daily operations and housekeeping of the laboratory.
- Order laboratory supplies and monitor equipment performance.
- Maintain computerized records and instruct others in laboratory methods.
- Present data at lab and departmental meetings.
- Mouse Husbandry (30%)
- Manage Skorput and Rosato mouse colonies.
- Genotype mouse strains by PCR and phenotype by flow cytometry.
- Wean mice, monitor breeding, and maintain accurate databases.
- Experiments (20%)
- Design and execute experiments (e.g., flow cytometry, microscopy) under guidance of PI.
- Prepare equipment, specimens, and troubleshoot as necessary.
- Record observations, reconcile results, and notify the PI of any issues.
- Maintain laboratory notebooks and adhere to safety requirements.
- Collect, analyze, and present data using graphs, charts, and statistical summaries.
- Miscellaneous
- Communicate respectfully with a diverse community and demonstrate a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness.
- Associates degree in biological science or related field with at least one year of relevant lab experience, or a Bachelors degree, or equivalent education and experience.
- Basic laboratory skills: molarity/dilution calculations, solution formulation, protocol adherence, willingness to work with mice and infectious agents.
- Good judgment, organizational, time‑management skills.
- Accurate lab notebook maintenance.
- BA/BS in biological science or related field.
- Experience conducting literature searches and reporting on field developments.
- Knowledge of software applications such as Excel, Prism, Flo Jo, and Image
