Research Assistant/Associate
Position Details
Research Assistant I – 24‑month term, funded by a grant, located at Moore Hall, 3 Maynard Street, Hanover, NH 03755. On‑site only. Salary range: $21.00–$23.00 per hour. FLSA status:
Non‑Exempt. Full time: 40 hours per week.
- Conduct experiments and set up protocols under guidance of the principal investigator and senior researchers.
- Collect behavioral and neuroimaging data, including operation of an MRI scanner.
- Develop experimental paradigms using Python or web development skills.
- Analyze data with Python, MATLAB, or R and prepare graphical representations, statistical summaries, and tables.
- Assist in drafting manuscripts and preparing figures, tables, and charts for publication.
- Allocate approximately 50% of the time to research activities (data collection, analysis, manuscript preparation).
- Perform administrative duties: organize lab events and meetings, support the Institutional Review Board and federally‑funded grants, maintain the lab website and manual, manage volunteer research assistants, care for laboratory equipment, and order supplies.
- Bachelor’s degree with a major in psychology, neuroscience, computer science, or a related field.
- One year of relevant laboratory or research experience.
- Competence in laboratory methods, procedures, techniques, equipment, and instruments.
- Ability to work independently, apply critical thinking, and exercise sound judgment.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Experience in designing psychological experiments.
- Experience analyzing data using Python, MATLAB, or R statistical frameworks.
- Experience working on computers, including UNIX operating systems.
