Position

Purpose:

Under general supervision of the Manager or Supervisor, the Unattended Retail Associate ensures the efficient and continuous operation of the Dartmouth Dining vending program. Working as part of a team, stocks, maintains, cleans, and services Smart Coolers and associated cafe equipment. In addition, assists with the handling, storage, and transportation of food and products, ensuring that appropriate food safety standards are consistently maintained.

High School or equivalency

• Two years of general food service experience.
• Must be able to qualify as a Dartmouth Approved Driver.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced operation and to make decisions under pressure.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills to deal effectively with students, faculty and staff
• Strong organizational skills and ability to shift attention to changing details
• Knowledge of sanitation regulations and policies and the ability to obtain a sanitation certification (Serv Safe).
• Knowledge of computer operations and familiarity and comfort with remote/mobile data terminals.
• Must promote a positive work environment and be committed to achieving excellence in a team setting.
• Ability to work nights and weekends as needed or directed.
• Ability to effectively and efficiently work in a self-directed manner with minimal direct supervision while meeting daily and weekly goals.
• Ability to safely lift, carry and move short distances and up/downstairs 50lbs regularly.

• Prior retail food service experience, particularly with vending operations.
• Prior experience with kiosk or smart cooler operations.
