Under the general direction of the senior leader for recreation this position manages and is responsible for the operations of Lewinstein Athletic Center Gym Membership Programs, The Zimmerman Fitness Center and Boss Tennis Center. In collaboration with the Director of Recreation and Wellness Education Operations, this position manages the Lewinstein Athletics Center fitness class and personal training programs. This position will supervise one full-time position and more than 50 part-time employees in the Zimmerman Fitness Center, and the Boss Tennis Center.

Accountabilities

Amenities Membership Programs & Fitness and Indoor Tennis Center Management
  • drive sales, hire and train staff, coordinate with facilities operations, maintain equipment
Fitness Classes and Personal Training Program Management
  • create and maintain programs, manage budget, hire staff
Administration
  • maintain records, develop operations and handbooks, assist in content creation and social media campaigns
Minimum Requirements
  • 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Nationally Accredited Certification in personal training and/or fitness classes (ACE,NASM,NSCA, other) or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
  • First Aid,CPR,AEDcertification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
  • Ability to manage logistical and administrative details of multiple tasks or projects.
  • Ability to plan work, set priorities, and respond to pressures, deadlines, and changes in schedules and priorities.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in business and management computer applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively, independently, and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work with confidential information with discretion.
Preferred Requirements
  • Fitness Facility Management Experience.
  • Previous leadership of a fitness industry program or facility.
  • Previous experience in the higher education fitness and recreation space.
