DIGITAL BINDER OPERATOR
3RD SHIFT (12:00AM-8:00AM)

Job Summary:

Operate and maintain automated perfect binding line and casing-in equipment to production standards and quality.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Operate automated perfect binding equipment (load, jog, feed) and trimming equipment (stack, unload) to production standards and quality
Analyze and interpret job jackets and print-on-demand sheets to thoroughly understand the needs of the customer, communicating those instructions to co-workers
Cross train to assist on the hardcover casing-in equipment
Constantly monitor quality of finished product to ensure customer’s satisfaction
Perform technical maintenance of the machinery and trouble shooting.
Maintain accurate record keeping on timesheets and logbooks; understand and utilize corresponding digital software systems.
Accurately communicate to the next shift and other co-workers the status of jobs being processed.
Operate hand jack to move work throughout the department and deliver all completed work to the shipping area.
Assist with housekeeping in the digital bindery area.
Perform job in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees. Follow all required safety procedures such as: PPEs, Ergonomics, etc.
Demonstrate willingness to cross train in multiple job functions.
Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED
Strong knowledge of computer-controlled machinery in a production environment
Good mechanical, math (ability to read a ruler, add, subtract), communications and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Self-motivated, with strong problem-solving abilities
Ability and willingness to work overtime

Desired

Skills and Abilities:

Prior experience on bindery equipment

Physical Requirements

Frequent turning, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs)
Continuous walking and/or standing.
Occasional kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and sitting.
Occasional pushing/pulling up to 50lbs.
