Job Shift Swing

• Sight inspects and removes defects or any extraneous material from product.
• Performs general, non-mechanical, labor duties throughout the plant.
• Prepares raw materials for production.
• Deposits fatback into cans by hand or meat depositor.
• Responsible for physically lifting up to 100 pounds as required.
• Responsible for container inspections to include seam inspections, proper lid placements, and proper fill levels in containers.
• Responsible for keeping work area clean to include sweeping, dumping, and/or disposing of materials used in production.
• Responsible for understanding how certain equipment operates and how to stop equipment if the automatic function fails.
• Should not leave assigned work area unless given permission by the Supervisor and/or Lead person.
• Responsible for reporting any mechanical and/or safety problems immediately to the Supervisor and/or Lead person.
• Adheres to common safety practices/guidelines, including the wearing of protective clothing and equipment as required.
• Adheres to plant hygiene standards to ensure high product integrity.
• Responsible for following food safety, legality and quality policies and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities such as but not limited to: GMP's, HACCP, safety, product quality, food security, plant security, etc.
• Assists in loading and unloading kettles in the retorts.
• Must be able to operate a forklift, electric pallet jack, bobcat and hoist when needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and/or Lead person
