Miscellaneous Metals Foreman

The Miscellaneous Metals Foreman oversees the day-to-day execution, supervision, and performance of a miscellaneous metals fabrication shop. This role ensures safe, productive, and high-quality fabrication operations while managing shop personnel, workflow, production scheduling, equipment utilization, and overall shop organization. The foreman collaborates closely with plant and operations leadership to execute production priorities and achieve operational, quality, and safety goals.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the daily operations of the miscellaneous metals fabrication shop to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production.
  • Supervise shop personnel, providing clear direction, guidance, and support to meet production and quality targets.
  • Manage workflow and production scheduling to align with project priorities and deadlines.
  • Oversee equipment utilization, ensuring tools and machinery are used effectively and maintained in good working order.
  • Organize the shop environment to promote productivity, safety, and efficient material handling.
  • Coordinate closely with plant and operations leadership to execute production plans and adjust priorities as needed.
  • Monitor fabrication activities to ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Manage labor resources, including assigning tasks and balancing workloads across the shop.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts in fabrication processes, safety practices, and overall shop performance.
  • Communicate clearly with team members and leadership regarding production status, challenges, and required adjustments.
Essential Skills
  • 5–10 years of experience in miscellaneous metals fabrication.
  • Previous experience as a foreman or in a fabrication leadership role (preferred).
  • Strong understanding of miscellaneous metals fabrication operations and workflow.
  • Proven experience managing labor, production scheduling, and shop operations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a fabrication team.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with shop personnel and leadership.
  • Knowledge of fabrication safety standards and the ability to enforce safe work practices.
  • Knowledge of fabrication quality standards and the ability to maintain high-quality output.
  • Experience with welding and related fabrication processes.
