Electromechanical Technician

This role combines electrical, electronic, and mechanical maintenance to keep production equipment and plant systems operating safely and efficiently. You will work from instructions, routines, prints, and manuals to install, repair, rework, construct, and service a wide range of electric and electronic equipment and gaging systems. The position supports both preventive and corrective maintenance activities, including millwright duties and basic welding tasks, while collaborating closely with engineering and external vendors to resolve technical issues and improve equipment reliability.

Responsibilities
  • Work from instructions, routines, prints, charts, drawings, specifications, and manuals to perform maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Perform maintenance, installation, repair, rework, construction, and service of all electric and electronic equipment, including electronic and electric gages and services.
  • Carry out all duties necessary to maintain plant facilities and equipment, including millwright responsibilities.
  • Repair production equipment and processes to minimize downtime and support continuous operations.
  • Use tools and equipment related to the mechanical trades to perform mechanical repairs and adjustments.
  • Perform basic welding, cutting, soldering, and brazing as required for maintenance and repair work.
  • Read and interpret prints, charts, drawings, schematics, and specifications to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and mechanical problems on production and plant equipment.
  • Work closely with engineering and outside vendors to complete job-related tasks and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Direct the activities of lesser skilled craftsmen when required to complete assignments safely and efficiently.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on equipment and systems according to established schedules and procedures.
  • Order parts and materials needed to complete maintenance and repair work in a timely manner.
  • Occasionally train other employees on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, or related tasks.
  • Assist or relieve operators as needed to support production and ensure smooth operation of equipment.
  • Perform inherent work of related mechanical trades as required to complete assignments.
  • Open and close the plant when required, including starting up and shutting down equipment.
  • Turn equipment on and off safely following established procedures and safety protocols.
  • Maintain work areas in a neat, safe, clean, and orderly condition at all times.
  • Notify supervision promptly of any problems, difficulties, or unusual conditions encountered during work.
  • Follow all safety protocols, company rules, and policies while performing job duties.
  • Perform other related duties as required to support plant operations and maintenance needs.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with 5-axis machinery.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment in a production set-up role.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Considerable training in electrical and mechanical trades, equivalent to complete apprenticeship training or a two-year post-high school technical degree.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, blueprints, charts, drawings, and specifications.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting skills in electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance on production and plant equipment.
  • Ability to perform basic welding, cutting, soldering, and brazing.
  • Proficiency using hand tools and mechanical trade tools safely and effectively.
  • Capability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to train on any shift as needed.
  • Willingness to refer to supervision for clarification of priorities, objectives, or policies.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Availability to work 2nd shift (Monday–Friday, 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.) or 5th shift (Saturday–Sunday, 11:00 a.m.–11:00 p.m.).
