Job Duties
The Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) protects the public by preparing court-involved youth to be successful citizens. DJJ is committed to excellence in public safety by providing effective interventions that improve the lives of youth, strengthening both families and communities within the Commonwealth.
DJJ is currently seeking a Training & Development Coordinator Sr. This role will support leadership training and development initiatives by coordinating, delivering, and/or supporting assigned leadership programs. Support the agency initiatives for alternate dispute resolutions, by providing mediation and coaching services. This position is critical in the Department's ability to hire, develop, and retain a highly proficient workforce by providing required training to current and future employees.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Ability to travel throughout the state to provide consult services i.e. mediation, coaching;
* Deliver training and to adhere to state travel reimbursement guidelines;
* Adjust to the changing needs of the organization;
* Communicate verbally and in writing at all levels and provide exceptional customer service.
Minimum Qualifications
* Considerable knowledge of adult learning methods;
* Demonstrated skills in the delivery of leadership and soft skills content for an adult audience, utilizing a variety of training interventions;
* Demonstrated ability to follow lesson plans; plan, organize and schedule work;
* Considerable knowledge of organizational development and leadership development;
* Interpret and apply agency and unit policies and procedures;
* Experience in developing/designing, coordinating, and delivering leadership training.
Additional Considerations
* Equivalent combination of training & experience in behavioral health, criminal justice, human services, or related field.
