Rotating Equipment Mechanic - 2nd Shift

Overview

Recommend and implement repairs for all types of industrial and rotating equipment, including compressors, turbines, and other machinery. Document, erect, alter, install, align, repair, replace, disassemble, reassemble, move, and inspect rotating equipment using proper tooling and processes to complete work safely and in a timely manner. Plan and oversee repairs with limited supervision. Train other employees on department functions and processes.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Conduct themselves in a professional manner when working with internal and external customers.
• Read and comprehend drawings, sketches, work scopes, and verbal instructions.
• Use appropriate equipment, tooling, drawings, work scopes, procedures, specifications, and documentation to perform the primary function.
• Alter and overhaul rotors, turbines, disc and blade holders, shafts, sleeves, gears, couplings, and other equipment as needed.
• Set up all equipment needed to complete jobs.
• Use measuring devices (micrometers, indicators, calipers, gauges) with advanced accuracy.
• Accurately measure and record all critical clearances and dimensions on turbines, compressors, and other equipment.
• Pass the annual dimensional inspection test.
• Understand and process documentation for turbo machinery (inspection reports, photo logs, hold tags).
• Perform lifting, rigging, crane and forklift operations with advanced knowledge.
• Help train other hourly employees in repair processes and procedures.
• Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Accept ownership of work performance and stay current on job knowledge and skills.

• High School Diploma or Equivalency.
• 5–8 years’ experience with rotating turbo machinery.
• Advanced rigging capabilities.
• Advanced measuring capabilities.
• Experience with turbines, compressors and other rotating equipment.
