Position Summary
The individual will play a critical leadership role within KPMG in India’s Government & Public Services (G&PS) Advisory practice, supporting large-scale urban infrastructure and public sector development projects in Haridwar. This role requires extensive experience in project management, stakeholder coordination, and infrastructure advisory, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex government engagements. The selected candidate will serve as the Team Leader for Project Management Consultancy (PMC) assignments, ensuring successful project execution, governance, quality assurance, and delivery excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Advisory
• Lead the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team and act as the primary point of contact for the client and key stakeholders.
• Provide strategic oversight for planning, implementation, monitoring, and successful delivery of urban infrastructure and development projects.
• Ensure project milestones, timelines, quality standards, and contractual obligations are achieved effectively.
• Drive project governance and provide advisory support to government departments on project execution, risk mitigation, and performance improvement.
• Guide multidisciplinary teams in resolving technical, operational, and implementation challenges.
Stakeholder Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior government officials, urban local bodies, development authorities, contractors, and consultants.
• Facilitate coordination among multiple stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and decision-making.
• Represent KPMG in client meetings, steering committee reviews, and high-level government interactions.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and address critical issues through proactive engagement and communication.
Project Delivery & Monitoring
• Oversee project planning, design review, implementation monitoring, and quality assurance activities.
• Monitor project progress and identify risks, bottlenecks, and dependencies, implementing appropriate mitigation measures.
• Ensure compliance with contractual, statutory, regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements.
• Review contractor and consultant performance to ensure adherence to project goals and quality standards.
• Support the development of project management frameworks, reporting mechanisms, and performance dashboards.
Team Leadership & Development
• Lead, mentor, and manage multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within project teams.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing, coaching, and capability building across teams.
• Ensure adherence to KPMG’s quality, risk management, and compliance guidelines.
Required Skills & Competencies
• Project Management Expertise: Strong understanding of project management methodologies, infrastructure planning, construction management, and contract administration.
• Urban Infrastructure Knowledge: Experience in urban development, municipal infrastructure, transport, water, sanitation, smart city, or public infrastructure projects.
• Leadership: Proven ability to lead large multidisciplinary teams and manage complex assignments.
• Stakeholder Management: Strong interpersonal skills with experience engaging government officials, contractors, and implementation agencies.
• Problem Solving: Ability to manage competing priorities and resolve challenges in a fast-paced environment.
• Communication: Excellent presentation, reporting, negotiation, and client management skills.

Demonstrated ability to identify project risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
Qualifications & Experience
• Master’s Degree in Planning, Construction Management, Public Policy, Business Administration (MBA), Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in project management, advisory, or implementation of urban infrastructure and public sector development projects.
