General Manager; GM Harker Heights

Join 85C Bakery Cafe as a General Manager.

General Manager is responsible for achieving maximum sales and optimum profit, while mentoring a cohesive team of high‑performing management and staff, and acting as a backup when the General Manager is unavailable. The GM maintains an open line of communication among staff, liaises between Store Operations and Corporate, and upholds the highest standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness (QSC) while supporting 85°C’s vision and directives.

• Meet and exceed sales and profitability objectives; maintain high personal sales level and drive store results through others.
• Support the recruitment, retention, and development of a diverse pool of talent.
• Deliver the highest level of customer service to each guest; drive customer service by coaching and modeling desired behaviors.
• Maintain high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health & safety.
• Store associates are expected to cross‑train in each department (Bread, Cake, POS, Bar).
• Monitor and meet performance standards, including 85°C policies, core values, and standard operating procedures.

Minimum Education: High School Diploma; AA degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.

Minimum Experience: Two (2) years of store management experience in bakery, restaurant, or fast‑food.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, high self‑confidence, and ability to clearly communicate complex information.
• In‑depth understanding of 85°C products and future concepts.
• Demonstrated success in training, operations development, and customer service.
• Maintain and foster an owner mentality among self and all sub‑ordinating managers.
• Personal familiarity with daily store operation, from opening to closing.
• Experience in managing high‑volume stores, directly supervising ten (10) or more employees.
• Ability to work full‑time, including nights and weekend hours.

Physical requirements:

moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds), walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, continuous standing and walking, repetitive hand motions, and reaching overhead. Employees may be exposed to extreme temperatures in coolers and freezers.
