Job Description
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable results. The role operates under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician, following industry regulations and Bio Life Medical Affairs guidance.

How you will contribute- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs, develop physician standing orders, and coordinate donor transport to emergency facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for findings that require medical or technical guidance, or for donor safety and eligibility issues.
- Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
- Manage employee incidents and determine the need for further evaluation by occupational health; refer to EHS guidance when appropriate.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats in the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or a graduate‑level recognized nursing program with state licensure.
- Licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities are assigned: EMT‑Paramedic.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialists.
- Minimum two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $24.32 – $33.44. The actual hourly wage offered may vary based on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
