PRIMARY

PURPOSE:

Provide instruction and coach students to develop the skill and ability to excel in the sport assigned. Responsible for contributing to the educational program as a whole and to the growth of each student.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

* Bachelor's Degree and Valid Texas Teacher Certificate.

* All Physical Education Certified teachers or individuals eligible for Physical Education certification through an Alternative Certification Program (ACP) can apply here.

* Eligible ACP candidates must meet certification requirements.

* Demonstrated competency in the academic subject area assigned

Special Knowledge/

Skills:

* Knowledge of academic subject assigned

* General knowledge of curriculum and instruction

* Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior

* Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

* General knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures knowledge of University Interscholastic League (UIL) rules
