Agent Territorial Spécialisé des Ecoles Maternelles

The Specialized Territorial Agent for Nursery Schools assists teaching staff for the reception, animation, and hygiene of very young children, prepares and maintains cleanliness of the premises and the material directly used by the children. As a member of the educational community, he may be responsible for the supervision of very young children in canteens. He may also have missions of leisure reception outside the parental home of very young children.

Furthermore, he may assist teachers in classes or institutions that welcome children with disabilities.

Main activities:

• Welcome children and parents or parental substitutes with the teacher;
• Help the child in the acquisition of autonomy;
• Monitor the safety and hygiene of children;
• Assist the teacher in the preparation and/or animation of pedagogical activities;
• Arrange and maintain premises and materials intended for children;
• Transmit information;
• Participate in educational projects.

Specific activities:

• During school meal time: supervise children during the meal; set up activities adapted to lunchtime.
• Take care of children before and after the meal, before and after school.
• Accompany children to nap time.
• Participate in extracurricular and after-school activities.

- Be a graduate of the CAP early childhood.

- Be a holder of the ATSEM competition.

KNOWLEDGE:

• Enable the development of the child from 2 years old (motor, socio-affective and cognitive abilities).
• Respect the basic principles of hygiene and safety.
• Favor the awakening of children by proposing with the teacher techniques of games and educational projects.
• Perfectly master the techniques of use of phytosanitary products.

• Accompany the child in his daily learning.
• Help in the acquisition of autonomy.
• Ensure the safety of children.
• Apply the rules of hygiene and safety.
• Implement techniques of games and activities.
• Maintain and check the premises and the material made available to the children.

Art. L332-8 disposition 2 of the general code of the public service - A contractual employee may be recruited for this position for the needs of the services or by the nature of the functions when no candidacy of a civil servant has succeeded. The proposed contract may not exceed three years, renewable up to a maximum duration of six years.
