Scope of JobThe Department of Neurology and Behavioral Health at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley School of Medicine seeks a motivated and energetic candidate for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track, with expertise in managing and treating various seizure disorders, including but not limited to focal and generalized seizures, as well as autoimmune and hereditary epilepsies. The candidate should be comfortable reading infant, pediatric, and adult EEGs, and take a leadership role in developing the Epilepsy program and establishing a research center by collaborating with the UTRGV Research Department.
Responsibilities will include teaching UTRGV School of Medicine students and residents (Neurology, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, and Podiatry).
The successful candidate will have no inpatient hospital responsibilities. The outpatient clinic is located at the Institute of Neuroscience in Harlingen, Texas.
MD or equivalent with board certification or board eligibility with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology;
Subspecialty designation in areas like clinical neurophysiology through the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology ( ABCN ). Must possess or able to obtain a valid Texas medical license.
