Overview
BIM (Revit) Project Leader — Harlingen, Texas. As a member of Garver's Water Design Center, the BIM Project Leader will lead the drafting and design for projects while mentoring a design squad of BIM Designers and Technicians. The role includes leading the production of 3D Revit models and maintaining CAD/BIM standards for Garver's Water Design Center, collaborating with engineers, designers, and technicians across multiple teams on various Water Business Line projects.
Typical design work includes process mechanical, structural, building mechanical, and architectural designs for water and wastewater treatment plants.
- Serve as the primary BIM point of contact for assigned projects
- Lead the coordination between project team disciplines (civil, process, structural, mechanical, and electrical)
- Manage drawing sheet lists (Excel and Revit) and production of compiled PDFs for project milestones from all disciplines
- Implement design changes where necessary and perform clash detection and resolution between disciplines
- Export Revit files and manage civil site plan linking
- Facilitate P&n with all process modeling
- Lead the development of 3D Revit models and organize facilities in multiple models as required
- Coordinate models with sub-consultants and maintain the shared coordinate system
- Own secured worksets for levels, grids, and scope boxes
- Organize facility plans, sections, and details in Revit for construction documents
- Attend project meetings and work closely with Design Phase Managers to maintain scope, budget, and schedule
- Maintain strong communication with engineers and project managers to ensure timely delivery and avoid conflicts
- Acknowledge and coordinate design issues with disciplines
- Arrange resources for file sharing and communication to effectively share design files internally and with clients, sub-consultants, and contractors
- Coordinate BIM resources for assigned projects and develop markups with engineers
- Distribute and coordinate workload with assigned BIM Designers and Technicians
- Review and mentor the work of BIM Designers and Technicians
- Provide thorough review of plan sheets to ensure compliance with company CAD/BIM standards prior to engineers' review
- 10 or more years of computer-aided drafting and design experience with an architectural and/or engineering design team
- Extensive experience using BIM software (Revit)
- Experience with MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- General understanding of various building types
- Experience with architectural, industrial, and commercial designs
- Experience with multi-discipline CAD designs (piping, structural, electrical, I&C, controls, mechanical, HVAC, process)
- Good communication and training skills (verbal and written)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Understanding of water or wastewater treatment equipment
- Experience using Bluebeam software
- Experience with file sharing protocols and other file transfer methods
- Associate’s degree or higher with a focus on CAD/BIM
- Experience with Civil 3D
- Experience with point clouds and point cloud processing with Re Cap
- Experience with BIM
360 file sharing software
