Under the direction of the Public Health Service Region Immunization Program Manager, the Public Health Prevention Specialist II/ImmTrac2 Coordinator will conduct activities to increase the use of the Texas Immunization Registry. Activities consist of outreach, education, training, data entry, quality improvement assessments, recruitment, and technical assistance. The population targeted are the general public, school nurses, and clinical staff members. The role will educate and target expecting mothers, parents, legal guardians, managing conservators, school nurses, clinic staff, and high school students turning 18 years of age on the importance and benefits of maintaining consent in the Texas Immunization Registry.
The coordinator will provide technical assistance to anyone requesting information on ImmTrac2, attend work in a regular schedule, maintain an acceptable driving record, and operate a state-owned or personal vehicle as required. The employee will also serve in a supporting role for disaster response and Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation.
- (30%) Quality Assurance Responsible Entity/Local Health Department: Utilize reports (PAR, CARE, TIPS) or client listings to meet activity goals, conduct ImmTrac2 Support Reviews, outreach/education to inactive organizations, and evaluate monthly reports to target low-consent entities.
- (20%) Conduct Outreach to Increase Consents for 18 year olds: Present to 18‑year‑olds in high schools, universities, and other institutions, coordinate with school staff to incorporate Adult Consent and Disaster Consent Forms into enrollment or graduation packets.
- (15%) Quality Assurance Responsible Entity/Local Health Department: Provide training to RE/LHD for ImmTrac2, assist new staff access, support annual contract reviews, complete quarterly reports and reviews.
- (15%) Stakeholders/Partners/Consumer Information: Disseminate information about the registry to providers, stakeholders, and parents, promoting increased use and ensuring providers enter clients within 30 days of vaccination.
- (10%) Recruitment: Provide education and training for new providers and pharmacies on registry use, supply resources and tools, follow up with questions.
- (10%) Program Management: Assist in evaluating program goals and objectives, participate in community partnerships and staff training, attend emergency events, and serve in disaster response or COOP activation.
A 4‑year bachelor’s degree or a 2‑year associate degree plus two years’ experience in a healthcare setting (education and experience can substitute on a year‑for‑year basis).
