This position may qualify for a sign‑on bonus. This role provides direct clinical patient care. The role will assume responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing direct clinical care to assigned patients on a per‑shift basis, and unit level. It also supervises staff to whom appropriate care is delegated and supports the CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
ResponsibilitiesThe RN provides high‑quality, safe, cost‑effective, total nursing care to all patients. The RN assumes responsibility for overall coordination and integration of patient care based on the nursing process, directs care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QI, and infection control, and ensures discharge with an optimum level of care. Responsibilities include coordinating and planning patient care within the prescribed medical regime, administering medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy, and fulfilling all HICS (hospital incident command system) duties during emergencies or disasters.
The RN must know the hospital’s emergency codes and adhere to related policies and procedures.
- Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing.
- Preferred: Recent acute care experience.
- Required: Currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice as required by law and state regulation; AHA BLS, and if applicable by corporate policy for unit of hire, AHA ACLS and/or PALS and/or NRP.
