Nurse Aide in Training is a program that provides employees with online and on‑floor training to become a Certified Nurse Aide. Employees who deliver good customer service, are reliable, team players, and have a strong work ethic will become eligible for Education Assistance to obtain certification at no cost.
Education Assistance (No Cost)- Classes on or off‑site at a Regency location
- A local program offered by a community college or technical school
- An internship with a waiver to skip the class, followed by a skills check and practice exam provided by the facility, qualifying the employee to schedule for testing
- Provide residents with comfort and safety, including detecting and reporting situations that may lead to accidents or injuries.
- Carry out duties in accordance with resident care policy and procedure.
- Assist with daily living tasks such as bathing, feeding, dressing, observing intake of food, and maintaining hair and nail care.
- Move residents, including lifting and transferring, respecting physical limits.
- Utilize and log care in the Electronic Medical Records system.
- Measure and record vital signs.
- Observe and report symptoms, reactions, and condition changes to nursing staff.
- Maintain care of equipment and supplies.
- Walk with ambulatory residents or push a wheelchair as required.
- Perform movements such as pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, and lifting over 50 pounds with or without accommodations.
- Answer call lights promptly, determining whether assistance from a Charge Nurse or another department is needed.
- Provide good customer service with tactful and appropriate communication in sensitive situations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Administrator or Nurse Management.
- High School Diploma or GED highly preferred.
- Experience as a caregiver preferred.
- Good communication skills.
