Overview
Join a leading Neuroscience program known for its exceptional patient care and strong community reputation. We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide support in an outpatient clinic setting with inpatient rounding as needed.
Position Details- Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with No Call - Outpatient setting with occasional inpatient support
- Join team of 3 qualified Physicians and 1 APP
- All levels of experience welcome; previous Neuro experience a plus
- Provide direct patient care under the direction of a physician, including gathering detailed history and performing physical exams
- Perform or order tests and interpret results; administer therapeutic procedures as directed
- Instruct on care and maintain written charts and records (EMR)
- Fulfill duties assigned by physician and ensure completion of all required documentation per Tenet Physician Resources policy
- Report to the attending physician any injuries or adverse reactions during or after treatment
- Participate in patient review conferences and staffing; assist with Utilization Review, Quality Assurance, Program Evaluation, Infection Control, and Safety Committee activities
- Provide physician assistant services to patients as directed by the physician’s care plan and supervised by the physician
- Adhere to applicable policies, procedures, and HIPAA/Privacy standards
- Order medications as appropriate
- Provide health teaching and counseling during the exam to enable informed health decisions
- Provide consultative direction as needed for nursing, laboratory and clinic staff
- Other duties as assigned
- Education:
Masters prepared Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner (NP) - Certification:
Current NP license to practice in the state; CPR certified; DEA registration; additional certifications per governing board and facility bylaws - Licensure:
Must be licensed, certified or registered to practice as required by law in the state of practice - Experience:
All levels of experience considered;
Neuro experience a plus - Skills:
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team; strong communication and commitment to high-quality patient care
