Retail Sales Associate

Position Summary

We are seeking entry-level, full-time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the entire staff of the store to ensure customer service on both the lending and retail sides of the business. A Pawnbroker/Retail Sales Associate greets, engages, and interacts with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions.

The associates will work with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations) and much more. The Full-Time Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate position offers an hourly wage, PLUS employees earn commission based on productivity. The successful Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate's pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience.

• Greets and interacts with customers to develop rapport and provide appropriate financial solutions.
• Performs non-management open/close procedures.
• Maintains clean, stocked sales floor and displays merchandise.
• Performs sales and loan transactions in accordance with policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Handles all cash and negotiable items following established policies and procedures.
• Answers incoming calls per company standards.
• Effectively communicates the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Collaborates with coworkers and managers to create a positive customer experience.
• Completes required training and other duties as assigned.

• Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Must be willing and able to stand, move, and perform duties for extended periods.
• Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
• May be asked to assist customers on exterior areas or retrieve products stored outside.
• Minimum Age: 18 years old
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• Strong desire to work, serve customers, and be team-oriented.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and perform basic math calculations.
• Cash handling experience is preferred.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays; ability to work at multiple locations as needed.
• Computer literacy and ability to operate POS systems and standard office equipment.

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2-8% commission, based on the gross profit of their personal performance. Pay details are provided during the interview process. Earned Wage Access is available to employees on the second day of employment; employees may withdraw up to 50% of earned wages up to seven times per payroll cycle.
