Furniture Repair Technician
The Furniture Repair Technician is responsible for repairing and refinishing furniture at the distribution centres, stores, in our guests' homes or virtual. Core duties include inspecting assembled products, restoring products to like-new conditions, repairing damaged stock, understanding and following safe work practices, answering guests' questions, documenting service reports, completing electronic paperwork, communicating issues, attending training, inspecting repair parts, ensuring compliance with safe work practices, and demonstrating the company's values.
Other duties may change over time and can be changed with or without notice. Success metrics include completes per hour, perfect repair index, speed to guests, and safety compliance.
Qualifications experience includes previous repair, set up, and/or warehouse experience, good computer skills, good verbal communication skills, and demonstrating the company's values.
Education includes a high school diploma with two years of practical work experience in furniture repair, including upholstery, leather repairs, and wood refinishing. Combination of education and experience will be considered. Core competencies include excellent verbal and written communication skills, good physical condition with stamina to lift at least 50-100 pounds, ability to conduct physical work in warm and cold conditions, and ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Physical requirements include seeing, hearing, speaking, sitting, fingering/grasping/feeling, standing/walking, climbing/stooping/bending/kneeling/reaching, lifting/pulling/pushing, and working in office and out of office work environments.
