Role Description The Pit Technician role at Oil Can Harry's is an on-site position located in Harlingen, TX. A Pit Technician is responsible for performing routine vehicle service tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and basic inspections in a fast-paced service bay environment. The role includes safely operating equipment, following company procedures, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and assisting with inventory of parts and supplies.

Pit Technicians interact with customers and team members to ensure services are accurately communicated and completed in a timely manner. This position may involve standing for extended periods, working around automotive fluids and equipment, and adhering to all safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with routine automotive maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, and apply standard operating procedures consistently.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to safety practices in a service bay environment.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with colleagues and provide clear information to customers.
  • Willingness to learn, accept training, and adapt to new tools, technologies, and service processes.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting moderate weights, standing for long periods, and working in varied conditions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior experience in automotive service or related fields is a plus but not required.
  • Availability to work on-site in Harlingen, TX, including weekends or extended hours as needed.
