As a Home Study Assessor, you’ll play a vital role inhelping children move toward safe, stable, and permanent homes. In thisfield-based role, you’ll conduct comprehensive home studies and assessments that determine a family’s readiness to foster or adopt. Your work ensures families are prepared, supported, and aligned with child welfare standards, directly impacting the permanent outcomes for children.

Today, The Bair Foundation provides services in multiple states across the country. Conduct in-depth home studies and assessments in accordance with agency standards and regulatory requirements

Interview prospective families and complete home visits to evaluate safety, stability, and readiness to care for children

Prepare clear, accurate, and timely written homestudy reports that support certification and permanency decisions

Guide and educate families throughout the homestudy process with professionalism, clarity, and compassion

Collaborate with agency staff and leadership toensure assessments meet quality and compliance expectations

Maintain organized documentation and meet established timelines for assigned home studies

Represent the agency’s mission, values, and commitment to children in every interaction

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related human services field preferred
• Experience working with children, families, or social service systems preferred
• Strong assessment, interviewing, and professional writing skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
• Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance, and vehicle registration

• Prior experience completing foster care or adoption home studies
• Knowledge of state and federal child welfare regulations
• Strong attention to detail and documentation quality
• Comfort working in a flexible, field-based or per-assignment role
