Role DescriptionThe STEM Educator is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Harper Woods, MI. This position is responsible for planning and delivering engaging STEM lessons and project‑based activities to K–12 students in classroom and small‑group settings. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include preparing instructional materials, teaching hands‑on lessons that integrate green technology, assessing student progress, and adapting instruction to diverse learning needs. The STEM Educator will collaborate with other staff to refine curriculum, participate in training and team meetings, and help maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
The role also involves communicating with families and stakeholders about program goals, student achievements, and upcoming activities.
- Demonstrated skills in Lesson Planning and curriculum design for K–12 STEM programs.
- Background in Education with knowledge of age‑appropriate instructional methods and learning standards.
- Strong Communication skills for interacting effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Experience in Teaching and Training, including leading hands‑on, project‑based learning activities.
- Interest or experience in STEM fields and green technology concepts.
- Ability to create inclusive, supportive, and culturally responsive learning environments.
- Organizational and classroom management skills to handle multiple projects and student groups.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, STEM, or a related field preferred; prior teaching or youth program experience is beneficial.
