CTE Construction Trades Paraprofessional
Construction Trades Paraprofessional assists lead instructors in teaching high school students carpentry, building techniques, and safety in classroom and hands-on shop or job-site settings. The paraprofessional works under the direct supervision of a certified CTE teacher to support daily instruction, maintain a safe working environment, and guide students through hands-on building projects. Entry-level problem-solving skills are a must, with strong technical aptitude.
The right candidate s must be student-focused and foster a positive student-learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instructional Support:
Reinforce lessons in carpentry, blueprint reading, tool operation, and construction safety and regulations while using equipment. - Shop & Site Supervision:
Monitor students during hands-on building activities to enforce strict safety protocols and proper equipment use. - Student Assistance:
Help individual students or small groups understand technical tasks, project steps, and behavioral expectations. Assist students with reading and comprehension. - Project Maintenance:
Assist with organizing materials, maintaining tools and equipment, and preparing work areas for daily projects. - Administrative Support:
Track student participation, maintain a clean and orderly learning environment, and communicate safety or attendance concerns to the lead teacher.
Qualifications:
Sixty credit hours or a bachelor's degree. Interest in construction trades preferred. Term of employment 10 Month Employment $25/Hour Option of ACA Medical Coverage/60% Employee Cost
