MSG is expanding our Transportation Team in Michigan and is looking for a Senior Roadway Engineer & Detroit Metro Transportation Lead to take charge of roadway and utility design projects in a fully 3D digital environment. This position includes supervisory responsibilities, overseeing a team of seven designers in our Detroit office, and offers significant opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the preparation of roadway design plans and 3D models for local agency projects.
- Perform and review design calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare design packages for milestone client submittals, including estimates, special provisions, and RID packages.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing team.
- Support MDOT projects as needed, applying similar expertise and leadership.
- Oversee and manage a team of seven designers, ensuring successful project delivery and professional development.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- 12‑15 years of experience working with MDOT transportation and Local Agency.
- Michigan PE with the ability to become registered in other states.
- Knowledge of Open Roads ORD design software is required;
AutoCAD/Civil3D is a plus. - Experience working as a PM.
- Desire and ability to manage a team.
