Registered Dietitian
The Orchards MI is currently seeking a Registered Dietitian to join our team.
Registered DietitianDuties and Responsibilities:
- Complete nutritional assessments and develop individualized nutrition care plans for residents
- Assess residents' nutritional needs, dietary restrictions, and current health status
- Monitor residents for significant weight changes, nutritional risks, and changes in condition
- Recommend appropriate therapeutic diets, supplements, and nutrition interventions
- Participate in resident care planning and interdisciplinary team meetings
- Complete required nutrition documentation and assessments accurately and timely
- Collaborate with nursing, dietary staff, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
- Review menus and meal service to ensure residents' nutritional and therapeutic dietary needs are met
- Provide nutrition education to residents, families, and staff as appropriate
- Assist with maintaining compliance with applicable federal, state, and facility requirements related to nutrition and dietary services
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field
- Current Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred
- Knowledge of therapeutic diets and clinical nutrition
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Ability to meet the nutritional and dietary needs of a diverse resident population
