Southeastern Illinois College is seeking a part-time/adjunct Medical Assistant Instructor for the summer 2026 semester. This is a 15-hour lecture/internship oversight course that meets face-to-face 4-5 times during the semester. Classroom instruction includes lecture, injection demonstration, basic billing, and skills check-off. The instructor will prepare the student to function successfully in the role of medical assistant in out-patient clinical setting. This is a capstone course.
Student will have already completed CNA, phlebotomy lecture, phlebotomy internship, and other medical terminology and calculation courses. Emphasis is placed on the knowledge necessary to successfully complete the certification exam.
The instructor is required to possess a minimum of 2 years (more experience preferred) or 2,000 hours as a certified medical assistant. Current certification in the job role is a must.
Note:
A registered nurse or physician that has overseen medical assistants may also apply.
