Certified Nursing Assistant

Responsible for assisting with professional nursing care for SIH patients.

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent

Licenses and Certification:

Completion of Illinois approved CNA training program and passed a written competency test or has successfully completed a nursing arts course (E.g., Basis in Nursing, Fundamentals in Nursing, Nursing 101, etc)
BLS

Role Specific Responsibilities:

Assists nursing staff with patient care activities such as but not limited to obtaining patients vital signs, intake and output, bathing, feeding, toileting etc.
Assists in medical emergencies, including CPR
Complete, accurate and timely documentation in patient medical record
Timely communication of changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Practical Nurse
Timely completion of delegated tasks from Registered Nurse
Serve as an advocate for the patient by communicating and collaborating with other health service personnel
Timely completion of required education and competencies
Cross train to telemetry tech if applicable to department needs

Compensation (Commensurate with experience):
