Assistant Controller

A growing organization within the construction industry is seeking a Controller to take ownership of accounting and financial operations for a regional team. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager with construction accounting experience who is ready to step into a broader role with increased ownership and visibility.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, and general ledger activity
• Lead the month-end close process and support year-end reporting
• Manage WIP reporting, job costing, and AIA billing
• Monitor project costs, billings, and financial activity
• Prepare accurate financial reporting for senior leadership
• Maintain accounting processes, controls, and documentation
• Partner with operational teams on project-related accounting and financial matters
• Support continued growth and take on additional responsibilities as the organization expands

Qualifications

• Accounting experience within the construction industry
• Strong understanding of month-end close and general ledger accounting
• Experience with WIP, job costing, and AIA billing
• Hands-on AP, AR, and financial reporting experience
• Ability to independently manage accounting responsibilities and work cross-functionally
• Quick Books experience is a plus
