DESCRIPTION

OF WORK

This position supports essential office routines that help staff manage records, information, and customer needs. The work ensures that documents, inquiries, and daily tasks are completed with care and accuracy. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Scanning and Imaging:
    Scan documents, adjust electronic image sets, and confirm they are linked to the correct records
  • Data Entry:
    Enter information into automated systems with attention to detail
  • Record Filing:
    Organize, file, and purge case records following required schedules
  • Visitor Reception:
    Greet visitors, gather needed information, and direct them appropriately
  • Information Sorting:
    Review, sort, and distribute mail, messages, and printouts to the correct area
  • Office Support:
    Complete typing, word processing, and other assigned clerical tasks

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • This is a full-time, seasonal position that typically runs for 6-8 months during the fall and winter seasons to assist clients in the process of applying for heating assistance.
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 1-hour lunch.
  • Work Conditions:
    Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment. In counties with District Offices, employees may be reassigned to different work sites due to operational needs. Reassignments will be made in compliance with contract language.
  • Telework:
    This position may be eligible to telework part time. Specific details of the telework schedule will be discussed during the interview process. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Chester, Pennsylvania.

    The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary:
    Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting hourly salary of $18.83 (before taxes).

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
