DESCRIPTIONOF WORK
This position provides clerical support for all programs managed by the Dauphin County Assistance Office. The work focuses on organizing information, helping staff, and supporting daily office operations. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Data Entry:
Input information into automated systems such as CIS and Mapper to ensure accurate record keeping - System Inquiry:
Access automated systems to obtain needed information for staff and case processing - Record Filing:
File documents in case records and organize case files according to retention requirements - Reception Duties:
Handle phone calls and personal contacts, recording or referring information as needed - Mail Sorting:
Review and distribute mail, computer printouts, logs, and case messages to appropriate staff - Office Support:
Communicate with the supervisor and carry out additional duties that support daily CAO operations

Work Schedule and Additional Information- Full time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 1-hour lunch.

- Telework:
This position may be eligible to telework part time. Specific details of the telework schedule will be discussed during the interview process. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, PA.
The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. - Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes).
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Dauphin County. If no eligible candidates who live within Dauphin County apply for this position candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
