Position Summary

As a member of the Lower School Division, the Fourth Grade Teacher is responsible for delivering a developmentally appropriate, engaging, and rigorous academic program that supports students’ faith, intellectual, social, and emotional growth. The ideal candidate will foster curiosity, a love of learning, and strong foundational skills across core subject areas while working collaboratively with colleagues and families.

Essential Functions

Collaborate closely with a grade-level teaching partner to design and implement lesson plans aligned with established curricular goals, and contribute to ongoing curriculum review and improvement.

Provide targeted support to individual students and differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.

Conduct ongoing formative and summative assessments in reading and math to monitor student progress and ensure alignment with curricular standards; administer standardized assessments as required by the school.

Work collaboratively with Lower School faculty, including specialist teachers, to ensure a cohesive, integrated educational experience.

Maintain open, timely communication with parents about student progress, growth, and areas of concern.

Support and live out the school's mission and teaching philosophy, as articulated by the foundress, Cornelia Connelly.

Maintain accurate attendance records and complete report cards in a timely manner.

Participate in supervisory duties, including lunch, recess/playground, and dismissal.

Support School events held after hours and on weekends when available.

Attend and actively contribute to faculty meetings.

Meet regularly with the Division Director and teaching partner to support planning, alignment, and professional growth.

Perform other duties consistent with the role as assigned by the Head of School

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Elementary Education

Minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience at the elementary grade level

Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with children, parents, and colleagues
