Extra-Curricular/Co-Curricular Advisor

Building Principal or Designee

Stipend/Supplemental Position

Job Summary:

The Extra-Curricular and Co-Curricular Advisor is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising student activities outside the regular academic curriculum. These activities support student development, promote engagement, and enhance the overall educational experience. The advisor serves as a role model and mentor while ensuring all activities align with district policies and educational goals.

Qualifications:
  • Must be a certified teacher or approved by the district to hold a supplemental position.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and interests.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Prior experience in a related activity or educational setting preferred.
Essential Functions:
  • Plan, organize, and facilitate meetings, practices, or events for the assigned club, activity, or program.
  • Supervise students during all official functions, ensuring safety, appropriate conduct, and inclusive participation.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, activities, and budgets (if applicable).
  • Follow all policies and procedures set by the Business Office regarding financial accounting, fundraising, and record keeping.
  • Follow all district board policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all students follow and adhere to the student code of conduct.
  • Maintaining professional adult/student boundaries.
  • Model and reinforce positive behavior, sportsmanship, and adherence to the club's expectations.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents/guardians and school administration.
  • Collaborate with other staff members and community partners as needed to support the activity.
  • Promote the club or activity to encourage student involvement and foster a positive school culture.
  • Ensure compliance with district policies, school rules, and relevant guidelines (e.g., eligibility, transportation, fundraising).
  • Submit required documentation, including rosters, permission forms, and end-of-season reports, in a timely manner.
  • Attend meetings, training sessions, or professional development related to the role.
Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands:
  • Variable work schedule, including before/after school hours, evenings, and occasional weekends.
  • Supervision of students in a variety of settings including classrooms, athletic fields, performance spaces, or community locations.
