The Bureau of Operations is currently looking for student interns to support the Asset Management Division in various roadway testing initiatives. A key element of this effort is the Systematic Technique to Analyze and Manage Pennsylvania's Pavements (STAMPP) program, which plays a vital role in the Department's overall roadway testing strategy. Interns selected for this opportunity will engage in a range of activities, including conducting physical surveys of shoulders, drainage systems, and guiderails, as well as assessing the conditions of these features in the field.
This will involve documenting and updating relevant data as needed. The surveys require the operation of a state vehicle, where interns will drive along the roadway's shoulder and perform assessments while remaining inside the vehicle for safety. Interns will work in pairs as part of survey teams, and it is important to note that this position necessitates overnight travel across the state.
