Electrical Engineer
Design, develop, and test circuits and systems used in the control of testing equipment;
Create electrical and controls engineering drawings and documents;
Specify electrical controls equipment and panel components;
Specify heating elements and circuits. Review proposed changes to existing designs for compliance with engineering standards, accepted practices and safety standards;
Review specifications to support proposal efforts;
Work with suppliers to specify and procure engineered components;
Develop PLC and HMI projects and control logic diagrams;
Working knowledge of IEEE, UL, NEC, CSA, and EU/CE standards as they apply to our applications. Engineering training and experience is critical for this position.
Electrical engineering, machine/industrial automation, product and prototype testing
- Create, maintain, and execute multiple projects and associated engineering documentation
- Design, Operate, and Test systems and applications using low to medium voltage (480 VAC, 3-phase, and below), DC Circuits, and various analog distribution systems
- Size and specify electrical and control components including transformers, circuit breakers, motor starters, conductors, etc.
- Develop, read, and check electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control descriptions, I/O lists, Bills of Materials, and PLC/HMI code for control of various electro-mechanical systems
- Ensure compliance with industry, engineering, and customer standards and specifications
- Working knowledge and application of electric codes and standards
- Familiar with design and programming of PLC, HMI and Ethernet interfacing;
Develop control logic diagrams - Work experience with PLC’s, HMI’s, Temperature controllers and control panel design is required. Experience with Lab View, C++, and communication networks is a plus.
