Fast-paced manufacturer is seeking a Process Engineer to work on process and project engineering tasks in their high-volume, process-oriented manufacturing organization. Daily you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Overseeing manufacturing processes and making improvements
- Troubleshooting equipment and processes in an assigned manufacturing area
- Developing and improving line layouts and making line modifications
- Overseeing timelines and budgets for up to four projects at a time related to continuous improvement, capital, facilities, etc.
- Monitoring production metrics and KPIs
- Working closely with hourly and salary staff to achieve production and engineering goals
- Completing mechanical troubleshooting
- Designing fixtures, gauges and equipment specifications in 2D and 3D software
- Conducting project proposals and completing cost justifications
- Participating in and leading Kaizen events throughout the plant
- Other duties as directed by management
Candidates should enjoy working in a team environment and have the ability to take ownership of their own projects. Depending on projects, individuals should enjoy spending 50% or more of their time on the manufacturing floor. This is a high-profile position that will partner daily with production and quality. REQUIREMENTS for the Process Engineer:
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering are highly preferred
- Minimum of three years of engineering experience in a similar process-oriented manufacturing environment
- Experience scheduling and performing capital equipment project management
- Experience completing CI functions, including scrap reductions, improving line efficiencies, etc.
- Mechanical aptitude
- Experience working with fluid dynamics, specifically pumps and pipes
- Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
Skills preferred but NOT required:
- Experience with 2D and/or 3D software
- ERP experience
- PLCs, robotics and/or automation experience
- Lean and/or Six Sigma certifications
- CMMS experience
