Product Development Leader
For almost 50 years, our client has carved out a reputation for the design, development, and manufacture of advanced power quality and power conversion equipment. Recently acquired by a larger, international corporation boasting 100 years of success, it has experienced dramatic sales growth this year alone and is forecasting even more dramatic growth as the horsepower of the Corporate Sales & Marketing teams kick fully into gear.
In this context of growth, the Director of Engineering will retire in 2023 after ably serving the company for 35 years. To fully support the business going forward, the General Manager will add a seasoned Product Development Leader now to affect an orderly transfer of knowledge and stabilize the Engineering Team for the future. Even as the business is growing rapidly, the Engineering Team is still small, requiring the Engineering Manager to be hands-on, a "Player Coach" contributing personally to new product development projects.
Our ideal candidate brings power inverter knowledge and personal hardware or software skills in design & support of sophisticated microcontroller and DSP controlled electrical power equipment. As a key employee, the Director of Engineering will support the General Manager with essential Customer support relations, new market assessments and leading new product development projects.
Electrical Engineering Degree. Solid electric power quality industry experiences. Any C and Assembler coding expertise is a bonus. Team leadership abilities
Why is This a Great Opportunity:This is a BIG FROG in a SMALL POND opportunity!! This small company has been acquired by a Hammond Power Solutions Inc.. a dynamic Canadian corporation that is driving dramatic growth with its Sales and Marketing horsepower. The HPS Sales & marketing horsepower has already doubled the sales and will be expanding the factory this year to support additional growth. With significant new product development projects for new markets upcoming, the new Engineering Director must contribute significantly to this growth.
