Outage Specialist

Constellation Energy seeks an Outage Specialist to plan, coordinate, and execute maintenance and forced outages across gas, oil, and electric assets. In this role, you will develop outage schedules, align generation with grid and market needs, and coordinate cross-functional teams and contractors to ensure safety, compliance, and minimal downtime. You will track milestones, manage work orders, and update stakeholders on risks and progress.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical understanding of power plant or utility operations, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to safety and reliability in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule planned and forced outages across gas, oil, and electric generation assets
• Coordinate with plant operations, maintenance, safety, and contractors to execute outage scopes
• Develop and maintain detailed outage timelines, work packages, and resource plans
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements during outages
• Monitor outage progress, manage changes, and escalate risks to stakeholders
• Optimize outage durations to minimize downtime and maintain reliability and production targets
• Use CMMS and scheduling tools to manage work orders, materials, and labor assignments
• Prepare outage reports, lessons learned, and performance metrics for continuous improvement
• Support budgeting, cost tracking, and forecasting for outage projects
• Collaborate with grid, system operations, and commercial teams to align outages with market needs
