Jr. Financial Planner

This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing world class service to financial advisors in an effort to guide their clients to achieve short and long‑term financial goals. The growing Financial Planning Department works with multiple independent advisors who outsource their financial planning needs to us. Advisors engage with us not only to save them time, but also for our expertise given our full‑time focus on financial planning.

This position is a great entry point for someone who wants to learn and grow in a financial planning career and will work directly under the mentorship of the department manager, a seasoned Certified Financial Planner (CFP®). The Junior Financial Planner will serve as a key contributor in the creation of customized financial plans that are delivered to clients, engaging in planning for increasingly complex client situations over time.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Enter client personal and financial data into eMoney™ software.
  • Coordinate with advisor office on any clarification or missing information.
  • Synthesize and analyze information, providing summaries and observations.
  • Modeling of Scenarios and What‑Ifs in eMoney™.
  • Create financial planning reports and other deliverables.
  • Communicate with advisors regarding their client financial plans.
  • Help develop, refine, and document new processes and systems to drive operational efficiencies.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
FUTURE RESPONSIBILITIES COULD INCLUDE
  • Assist with oversight of advisor office staff data collection and entry into eMoney™ Facts.
  • Lead client/advisor Fact Finding and Cash Flow Analysis meetings as needed.
  • Develop comprehensive financial plans showing the client’s current situation along with specific strategies and action steps.
  • Model financial planning strategies and action steps in eMoney Decision Center.
  • Assist with comprehensive financial plan presentations as needed, taking the lead in more over time.
  • Participate in client ongoing planning meetings as needed.

  • Solid organizational, follow‑through, and analytical skills.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
  • Key industry licenses, or ability to obtain within 4-6 months.
  • Series 65 and Life & Health Insurance licenses required.
  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam required if no prior industry experience.
  • Completion of or working towards CFP® education preferred.
  • Other background (i.e. work experience) with cash flow analysis, retirement planning, education planning, employee benefits, and/or insurance products in lieu of experience.
  • Experience with eMoney™ preferred; those experienced with other financial planning applications will be considered.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Financial planning, finance, accounting, or related field preferred, though other degrees will be considered if you can tie it into how it would help you excel in a financial planning career.
  • Knowledge in and embracing of technology, including Microsoft Office suite as well as Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
