Candidates should have at least two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in a law enforcement agency performing duties related to securing, preserving, and releasing property and evidence. The ideal candidate will possess excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective written and verbal communication abilities, while demonstrating the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Applicants must be eligible for CJIS certification, hold a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license, and successfully pass all required background checks.

Applicants must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed, respond off‑duty for priority cases.

Under the general supervision of the Criminal Investigations supervisor, this position is responsible for managing all property and evidence collected by the Police Department, encompassing both physical items and digital media (video, photo, and audio). The role ensures the meticulous preservation, processing, and archiving of all evidence, maintaining the legal chain of custody and accountability in accordance with state laws and accreditation standards.

The technician operates specialized equipment for digital evidence processing and manages the evidence storage facilities. Subject to random, unannounced drug & alcohol testing.
