Technology Specialist
Pay rate for this position is $17.70-$20.48 per hour depending on experience.
Qualifications:
- Technology-related degree preferred.
- Certificate in appropriate technology applications from an approved agency/school required.
- At least one year of technical experience required; school district experience preferred.
- Technical experience with hardware, networking, web site development, and software installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Must have the ability to work with people and help them with computer problems.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Job Goal:
To assist the school district staff to engage in technology operations, in cooperation with the Technology Coordinator. This position must exhibit the skills necessary to implement technical systems and programs in an educational setting, including the installation and maintenance of such systems. He/she must possess and utilize the interpersonal skills necessary to communicate this area of expertise with District personnel.
Essential Functions:
- In cooperation with the Technology Coordinator assist in the installation, maintenance and use of District technology, not limited to but including WAN, LANs, hardware, software and peripherals.
- In cooperation with the Technology Coordinator assist in the maintenance and recordkeeping of the District's technology inventory control system.
- Assist in training of District faculty and staff in the use of technology.
- Provide technical support to faculty as they use technology in the District.
- Inform faculty and staff on all computer lab improvements, new software and changes in procedures.
- Model and demand proper computer ethics.
- Keep current with District software and hardware systems.
- Monitor student use of District resources.
- Assists with the maintenance of District Website.
- Attend training sessions as needed.

Terms of Employment:
12 month Position Bargaining Unit Compensation as per the SAESP Collective Bargaining Agreement and district guidelines
Travel:
Some limited travel throughout the District
Evaluation:
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Technology Coordinator in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation of support personnel.
