Job Title:
Technical Business Analyst (Credit Card Payments)
Location: (Primarily Remote with occasional onsite at Harrisburg, PA)
Duration: 6+ Months
Type: Contract Job Description:
The client is seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst with strong expertise in credit card and digital payments processing to support the design, analysis, and implementation of enterprise payment solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience gathering and documenting business requirements, analyzing end-to-end payment workflows, supporting Agile development teams, and ensuring compliance with PCI-DSS and payment industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for credit card and digital payment processing solutions.
- Create BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows, use cases, data mapping documents, and functional specifications.
- Analyze payment lifecycle processes including authorization, settlement, refunds, tokenization, chargebacks, fraud prevention, and 3D Secure (3DS).
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, QA teams, vendors, and product owners to deliver payment solutions.
- Support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), regression testing, defect management, and production deployments.
- Ensure payment solutions comply with PCI-DSS standards, security requirements, and industry best practices.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Review REST API documentation, integration specifications, and data mappings to support payment gateway integrations.
- Analyze payment transactions and reporting data to identify process improvements and resolve production issues.
- Assist with go-live activities, hypercare support, and post-implementation monitoring.
- 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst with a focus on credit card or digital payments.
- Strong knowledge of payment ecosystems including card networks, issuers, acquirers, payment gateways, and processors.
- Experience with payment authorization, settlement, tokenization, chargebacks, and fraud management.
- Knowledge of PCI-DSS compliance, encryption, and tokenization concepts.
- Experience writing BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases, process maps, and data flow diagrams.
- Understanding of REST APIs, XML/JSON, and SQL.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments using Azure Dev Ops (ADO).
- Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with EMV 3DS, EMV chip, contactless payments, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
- Familiarity with payment platforms such as Client, FIS, ACI Worldwide, Worldpay, Stripe, Adyen, or Cybersource.
- Experience with chargeback processing, dispute management, and merchant reconciliation.
- Certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or AAP are a plus.
