Our client, a global electrical manufacturer, is seeking an Interim Site General Manager to lead one of its North American operations through a defined period of operational transition.
This role carries full site leadership responsibility during a fixed-term assignment and is focused on operational execution, stability, and aligning the site’s footprint with its near-term operating model. The Interim Site GM will work closely with executive leadership to ensure continuity of service, strong operational discipline, and a well-managed transition, before handing the site over to a future steady-state leader.
This is a hands-on, execution-focused leadership role, well suited to senior operators experienced in managing organizations through periods of operational change and adjustment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Site Leadership & Operations- Provide overall leadership and accountability for site operations during a defined transition phase.
- Ensure continuity across manufacturing support, service, and operational functions.
- Maintain a safe, compliant, and stable operating environment throughout the assignment.
- Lead operational adjustments to align the site with its evolving scale and operating model.
- Coordinate changes to manufacturing activities in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Strengthen operational controls, with particular emphasis on inventory management, accuracy, and discipline.
- Ensure systems, processes, and documentation are appropriate for the site’s revised scope.
- Oversee site financial performance, budgeting, and cost controls appropriate to the operation’s scale.
- Establish clear KPIs and performance visibility to support informed decision-making.
- Drive efficiency and productivity improvements where appropriate during the transition period.
- Work collaboratively with existing leadership to ensure a smooth transition period.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders throughout the assignment.
- Prepare the site for an orderly handover to a future steady-state Site GM at the conclusion of the interim term.
- This role is interim and time-bound, designed to support a specific operational phase over 6–12 months.
- The Interim Site GM will not have responsibility for R&D or long-term product strategy.
- The emphasis is on execution, operational discipline, and stability, rather than growth or expansion initiatives.
- Senior operational leadership experience within manufacturing, industrial, or technically complex environments.
- Demonstrated experience leading organizations through periods of operational change or transition.
- Strong execution capability, particularly in operational controls, cost management, and inventory discipline.
- Comfortable operating in fixed-term or interim leadership assignments with clearly defined objectives.
- Experience in electronics, high-tech manufacturing, or regulated industrial environments.
- Prior interim, contract, or transitional leadership experience.
- Track record of leaving operations in a stable, well-controlled state following change.
- Open to contract or direct-hire structures.
- Flexibility around relocation, commuting arrangements, and compensation structure.
- Interview process expected to include multiple virtual discussions followed by an in-person meeting.
- Target start aligned with near-term operational milestones.
