About the Role
We are looking for a Lift Director in the Safety Department to join our Safety team on our project in Shippingport, PA. This is a full‑time, in‑person position.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate, and manage on‑site lifting, hoisting, mobile equipment, and crane/rigging activities for large‑scale mission‑critical, aviation, and other complex projects by collaborating with project superintendents, project managers, trade partners, and craft performing high‑risk lifting activities.
- Implement industry best practices to promote a world‑class safety culture focused on preventing serious injuries and fatalities (SIFs).
- Mentor trade partners to ensure robust and effective safety programs and controls for hoisting activities.
- Provide technical expertise to proactively manage crane lifts and associated high‑risk activities, ensuring appropriate safety measures are in place.
- Track and analyze safety data to support proactive safety management.
- Monitor daily construction activities for compliance with OSHA, company, and client policies.
- Coordinate on‑site training and Holder/client‑driven safety initiatives.
- 5–10 years of crane and rigging experience.
- NCCCO Lift Director certification or local equivalent.
- Experience in logistics planning and management for large, complex projects.
- Formal safety training and competency in hazardous energy control, LOTO, scaffolding, crane management, steel erection, emergency response, fall management, excavation and confined space, rigging, hazardous waste, and erosion control.
- Ability to identify and correct safety deficiencies in the field.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other technology tools supporting safety efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management or related field.
- Professional safety certifications (e.g., CSP, CHST, SMS) or relevant crane and rigging certifications demonstrating technical competency.
