Nurse Aide - South Mountain Restoration Center; 2nd & 3rd Shift

As a Nurse Aide for the Department of Human Services, you play an important role in helping residents at South Mountain Restoration Center reach their full potential. Each day brings new opportunities to build skills, encourage independence, and provide well‑being. Your work supports the facility's mission of delivering high‑quality care.

This role focuses on supporting residents by meeting their basic health care needs and helping them build skills for greater independence.

• Direct Care Support: Assist residents with hygiene, comfort, and daily needs to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Rehabilitation Assistance: Support restorative programs that help residents reach their highest level of independence.

  Use therapeutic communication and respond to crises while acting as an advocate for residents.
• Care Planning Input: Contribute to treatment discussions and help maintain an orderly and sanitary living space.
• Daily Living Guidance: Teach and assist residents with tasks such as making beds, caring for belongings, and healthy eating habits.
• Status Reporting: Report changes in resident condition or environment to supervisors to maintain consistent care.

• Full‑time employment, 40 hours per week.
• Work hours include 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM (2nd shift) with a 30‑minute lunch, and 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM (3rd shift) with no lunch. Rotating on and off duty days, including weekends and holidays.
• Telework: There is no option to telework in this position.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non‑negotiable.

• Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry;
  or
• Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents.

• This position is assigned to a long‑term or specialized care facility and requires active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to PA State Police and FBI clearance.
