AMI Expeditionary Healthcare is actively hiring caring and dependable professionals for short‑term contract opportunities supporting long‑term care and skilled nursing facilities in State College, PA and neighboring counties. We are looking for individuals passionate about providing quality patient care and helping residents maintain dignity, comfort, and independence.
Position OverviewAs a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting residents with their daily care needs while promoting a safe, respectful, and patient‑centered environment. Working under the supervision of licensed nursing staff, you will provide hands‑on care, monitor resident well‑being, and help ensure the highest quality of life for those entrusted to your care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care and support to residents in a long‑term care or skilled nursing setting
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff
- Monitor and document vital signs and other health‑related observations
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
- Promote a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents
- Protect resident privacy, dignity, and confidentiality
- Participate in orientation, training, and continuing education programs
- Assist with meal preparation as needed
- Follow all facility, state, and federal regulations, policies, and procedures
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Certification/Registration
- Current BLS Certification (American Heart Association compliant)
- Minimum of 6 months experience as an Aide Trainee or 1 year of paid experience caring for geriatric, long‑term care, or medically complex patients
- Successful completion of all pre‑employment screening and clearance requirements, including background check and fingerprinting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to accurately collect, document, and communicate patient information
- Understanding of behavioral health and age‑related care considerations
