Responsibilities

Registered Nurse (RN) Opportunity – Full‑time. Shift 7:00 am–7:30 pm with an every‑other‑weekend rotation. The Meadows Psychiatric Center is a 119‑bed inpatient behavioral health facility on a 52‑acre rural campus minutes outside of State College in Central PA. It provides comprehensive care for patients from children to geriatrics and qualifies full‑time staff for a $20,000 sign‑on bonus.

• The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care for all patients on the Child, Adolescent, Stabilization and Adult Units.
• The Registered Nurse prescribes, coordinates, and delegates nursing care and oversees the unit activities for each shift.
• The Registered Nurse completes nursing assessments and documents care and progress of the patient each shift.
• Nurse is also responsible for completing the Columbia Suicide Assessment on all new admissions and on any patient that has a change in their suicide risk level.
• The Registered Nurse facilitates medication administration activities in accordance with safe medication practices, including patient education.
• The Registered Nurse responds to all crisis/emergency events to direct staff and ensure patient safety.
• Attends Treatment Team to aid in the development of patient care plans.
• Oversees Mental Health Technicians and Licensed Practical Nurses working on the unit.

• Valid Pennsylvania Registered Nursing License or Temporary Permit to Practice.
• Genuine interest in Psychiatric Nursing.
• Previous Psychiatric Nursing experience preferred, not required as training provided.
